Seminar overview

With D4i and DALI-2, plug-and-play connectivity and smart lighting will be a reality in the coming years. This session will examine the capabilities of D4i, which brings a long-awaited plug-and-play standardization for luminaires. The key element being used today is power monitoring for energy savings. The D4i standard provides the required data on DC power for control systems and sensors. D4i also stores asset information, diagnostic data, and identifies failure modes of the power source, the LED driver, and the LED array. In the second half of the session, we will illustrate how a utility (Georgia Power) is applying D4i to provide asset data, plug-and-play capabilities, and advanced diagnostics.

D4i simplifies connections and enables advanced features that provide value for the property owners. D4i provides a way to allow the complex network of lighting stakeholders to simplify their decision process by insisting upon the “D4i Plug and Play” solution. A luminaire with D4i can use a host of the top wireless control systems in the market today. Smarter, simpler, and superior; that’s D4i.
